Tom is a planning and environment lawyer who specialises advising on development projects and litigation in the Planning and Environment Court. He is recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Town Planning & Development Lawyer, Queensland 2023.

 

Tom has spent his entire career advising developers, local governments, and the Queensland government on a wide range of issues associated with property development, including planning approvals, environmental compliance, litigation and dispute resolution, and infrastructure charges notices and agreements. He recently represented a client successfully defending an appeal to the High Court of Australia concerning the interpretation of infrastructure conditions in a preliminary approval.

 

Tom has also gained significant experience advising on business cases for major road, rail, and community infrastructure projects. This has included upgrade projects to the Bruce Highway, the Pacific Motorway, the Mount Lindesay Highway, the Cunningham Highway, the Gold Coast Beenleigh Rail Line, and several schools in Queensland.

 

Recently in 2024, Tom was appointed to the board of directors of The Lady Musgrave Trust.
